MASTERPLAN To Begin Recording New Album In January

August 29, 2007

The current lineup of MASTERPLANRoland Grapow (guitar),Jan S. Eckert (bass),Mike Terrana (drums; YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, AXEL RUDI PELL, METALIUM, RAGE),Axel Mackenrott (keyboards) and Mike DiMeo (vocals; RIOT, THE LIZARDS) — has issued the following update:

"The band would like to thank all the fans who joined MASTERPLAN on tour with SAXON, on the festivals and on the headline tour in Japan and Korea. We had a lot of fun and great experiences with the new line up and of course with you fans!

"Roland just finished updating his studio in Slovakia where the next MASTERPLAN album will be recorded, so everything is ready to do a great new album. We are really looking forward to write new stuff and to work with Roy Z. again. In January '08 we will start with the recordings of the new material."

MASTERPLAN's video for the song "Lost and Gone" can be viewed below. The track was the first single off the German/American band's latest album, "MK II", which was released on February 23 via AFM Records.

MASTERPLAN's original singer, Jorn Lande, left the band in May 2006, citing "musical differences" between the vocalist and the rest of the band. During the songwriting process for the group's third album, it became increasingly apparent that the other members of the band had different visions and plans for the group's musical direction. While Jorn allegedly wanted MASTERPLAN to follow a more melodic path, the rest of the band apparently wanted to return to the metallic roots of their debut album.
