February 19, 2009Austrian extreme metallers MASTIC SCUM have parted ways with vocalist Will due to "musical differences" and have replaced him with Maggo Wenzel (INZEST, TRISTWOOD, WATCH ME BLEED).
MASTIC SCUM will enter studio in March to record 12 tracks for the band's new album. A pre-production version of the new song "Regression" is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Construcdead", "Dead Remains", "The Consciousness In A State Of Mind", "The Sufferage" and "Extinction".
Commented the group: "We already finished the pre-production of our upcoming album! The new material is fucking exciting and heavy as fuck: shredding mosh grooves and grinding blast attacks. We continued to refine the songs over and over again, never before we have spent so much time in songwriting and never before we have put so much energy in our new material."
In 2007, MASTIC SCUM celebrated its 15th anniversary by issung "The EPs Collection 1993-2002" via Power It Up/Twilight. This CD includes all of the band's vinyl releases plus two bonus tracks. This was MASTIC SCUM's 17th release since the band's inception in 1992.
