MEGADETH Drummer Checks In From The Road

February 23, 2009

MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has issued the following update from the "Priest Feast" tour, also featuring JUDAS PRIEST and TESTAMENT:

"Day two of our two day off break here in Dortmund, Germany and I have to say it is certainly well deserved. It is always beneficial to 'recharge the batteries,' which mostly for me just consists of getting a lot of sleep, and watching movies and/or TV shows I have downloaded from my iTunes. I had heard that a TV sitcom called '30 Rock' was quite funny from a few different sources, so I purchased five episodes on my iTunes and watched them for the first time last night — I thought they were absolutely hilarious, so now, of course, I will purchase all the episodes today. For me, being our here in different countries, I crave the things I enjoy at home, so things like this bring a big smile to my face."

Fan-filmed video footage of MEGADETH performing the song "Washington Is Next" on February 16, 2009 in Glasgow, U.K. can be viewed below.

On January 7, MEGADETH commenced the recording process for its twelfth studio album at the band's own Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California. The CD is once again being helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap, who produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations" (May 2007, Roadrunner Records).

Tentatively due later this year via Roadrunner Records, MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.
