MEGADETH Drummer Comments On New Album's Chart Success

May 26, 2007

MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's web site:

"You have no idea how gratifying it is to see the overall positive response of our new record ['United Abominations']! We worked so hard on it for so long to bring you the best record we could as well as trying to musically cater to the masses (never an easy task, let me assure you) to end up at #8 on the Billboard charts (#5 in my homeland, Canada — the highest chart position in MEGADETH history). Let me tell you, we are in such a great place right now! I thank all of you who went out and bought the record."

"United Abominations" first-week chart positions:

Finland: #2
Canada: #5
USA: #8
Sweden: #15
Austria: #17
Norway: #21
UK: #23
Australia: #23
Italy: #24
Germany: #28
Ireland: #31
Switzerland: #38
France: #40
Netherlands: #49
