MEGADETH Drummer Comments On Upcoming GUITARFEST Appearance

November 5, 2008

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will be joined by bassist Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT) and MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover for a performance at this year's Guitarfest at Music Live (the UK's favorite music-making bash) on Friday, November 7. Mustaine is allowing punters to create his setlist for the show by voting for their favorite MEGADETH songs. According to a posting on the MEGADETH web site, the jam session "will be a laid-back improv and not an actual concert performance."

Commented Drover: "As many [MEGADETH fans] know, I have been playing guitar most of my life, so this will be a cool trip for me. Besides, I am the fastest guitar player on earth, so I am actually surprised they didn't ask me in the first place. Perhaps they don't have enough fire extinguishers on hand, as my hands usually burst into flames once I get cooking. Oh, wait, I am playing drums at this event…"

He continued, "I 'may' be doing a signing session at the Ddrum booth, though I have no details on this, as it is pretty last minute, but try to find me if you can Friday. If not, I will be playing a few tunes with Dave and Marco.

"For those of you who will be at this event, I will look forward to seeing you."

Music Live takes place at Birmingham's NEC November 7-9, and Mustaine will be in attendance throughout the show for signing sessions on the Marshall amplification stand.

Joint tickets for Guitarfest and Music Live are priced at £20 and available from www.musiclive.co.uk.
