MEGADETH Mainman Is 'Horrified And Disgusted' By Montreal College Shooting

September 15, 2006

KNAC.COM reports that MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has issued a statement in regards to the shooting spree at Dawson College in Montreal this week in which the gunman, Kimveer Gill (Photo#1, Photo#2),was said to have drunk whiskey and listened to MEGADETH's "A Tout le Monde" before he went on his rampage.

Said Mustaine: "Like everyone else, I am horrified and disgusted by the tragic events of (September 13). We will pray for everyone who has been hurt, and all the families that are suffering."

Referring to the song "A Tout Le Monde", which Gill wrote on his blog that he was listening to a few hours before he died, Mustaine said, "It's based on a dream I had, where my mother came back from heaven to say 'I love you.' It's about me talking to her again."

Armed with three firearms, Gill fatally shot an 18-year-old female student, Anastasia DeSousa, and wounded some 11 others during his rampage. Others were hurt as they tried to escape the shooting.

Gill died from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head after a shootout with police.

In postings on VampireFreaks.com, blogs in Gill's name show more than 50 photos depicting the young man in various poses holding a rifle or a knife and wearing a black trench coat and combat boots, according to CNN.com.

The last of six journal entries Wednesday was posted at 10:41 a.m, about two hours before Gill died at Dawson.

Four victims remained in critical condition on Friday at Montreal General Hospital, including one who was in a deep coma, public health officials said. Victims' wounds included gunshots to the head, abdomen, chest and limbs.
