MEGADETH Mainman: 'What A Great Day Yesterday' At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival

June 9, 2007

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's web site:

"What a great day yesterday in England [at the Download festival]! After a trying stretch of making some shows in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and Finland we limped into Download yesterday, tired and worn out. Thank you for making our performance so enjoyable for us. When I saw everyone, especially those up front, I couldn't control the rush I felt. It was also kewl backstage too, seeing Clint from the old SEVENDUST days, Josh from BUCKCHERRY, and the great guitarist from DRAGONFORCE, and the MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE guys was just a great all around vibe.

"I hope you enjoyed the webcast and I want to thank the organizers for Download for not only having us, but for making the webcast happen too.

"At this rate, while this was one of the shortest set lengths I have played in the U.K. for sometime, I look forward to playing for you again in 2009."

As previously reported, five of Dave Mustaine's interview segments will air this weekend (June 9) on "Headbanger's Ball" at 10:00 p.m. ET. There will now be another six that air on next weekend's "Headbanger's Ball" (June 16). Once all 11 air, they will be put into rotation in all rock blocks on MTV2. That means during the blocks of time where MTV2 airs rock videos ("T Minus Rock", "Elite 8", "Rock Countdown", etc.) these segments will rotate in between videos (alongside segments from other rock artists/bands).
