MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE: 'A Lot Of Announcements Coming Next Week'

August 5, 2007

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"I have a lot of announcements coming for next week, like:

1. Naming all Pacific Rim dates
2. Naming all Australia dates (including new considerations for our Oz Droogs)
3. The 'Warchest' box set
4. The US mini-Tour of Duty
5. UK dates
6. Europe dates
7. South American dates
8. Gigantour 2008

"These items are for the end of this year, or starting shortly after the holidays next year, and some special things for just our fan club members.

"Time for coffee, and to start my day today.

"I have to get ready for Ken Eisennagel (from 'United Abominations' sessions) to come down here and finalize my studio. I am going to talk to Michael Sarna and see if we can do any of this work down here, and just all around take this incredible buzz from the reception of the new record here, and start working on some new music or video for release.

"It is going to be gorgeous today!"

Dave Mustaine took part in a question-and-answer session with the Dutch branch of Roadrunner Records in late June at the Hellfest in Clisson, France. Watch the seven-minute video clip at this location.

According to Amazon.com, EMI will release a new MEGADETH box set, entitled "Warchest", on October 15, 2007. The set, which will apparently be available in North America as an import only, will contain four CDs and one DVD. The exact contents of the box set are expected to be revealed soon.

MEGADETH's U.S. tour this fall kicks off in Anchorage, Alaska on September 4, taking the band through 24 U.S. cites ending up in Norfolk Virginia on October 6. Support on the dates will come from IN THIS MOMENT and THE CONFESSION.

MEGADETH's latest CD, "United Abominations", has sold 117,000 copies in the United States since its May 15 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
