MEGADETH's SHAWN DROVER Auctioning Drum Kit

November 20, 2008

MEGADETH's Shawn Drover is auctioning a Ddrum drum set from the band's "United Abominations" world tour via the official Megadeth eBay Store. Drover says, "This is the first drum set I have ever sold, but I figured with my two new drum sets coming in for the next world tour, I really have no need for four drum sets here at [MEGADETH's newly built recording studio] Vic's Garage [in southern California]. It would basically collect dust in a corner, so I figured perhaps it would benefit somebody else. Whoever does get it, I hope they enjoy it half as much as I did."

MEGADETH is in the early stages of the songwriting process for the band's new album, which is tentatively expected sometime next year via Roadrunner Records. The CD is once again being helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap, who produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations" (May 2007, Roadrunner Records).

MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of last year.
