MEGADETH To Play Chile In May

April 2, 2008

MEGADETH has announced the first date of its late spring South American tour: May 31 in Santiago, Chile. More shows will be announced soon.

As previously reported, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will guest on guitarist Dave Navarro's (THE PANIC CHANNEL, ex-JANE'S ADDICTION) online TV show on ManiaTV.com called "Spread TV" on April 10. According to a posting on MEGADETH's web site, these two guitarist legends will appear on stage "together for the very first time. The show will have Dave [Mustaine] on for a full hour; one-half interview and one-half [Mustaine] giving Navarro a guitar lesson. An interesting tidbit is that Dave's guitars had not yet made it back from tour in Europe, so at the last minute, Chad Bardon from ManiaTV.com was able to get Gary Harrison, a Dean [Guitars] distributor from Long Beach, to drive up a guitar for Dave to use to give Navarro a lesson!"

Several photos from the taping have been posted in the MEGADETH gallery at this location.

MEGADETH's February 4, 2008 concert in Helsinki, Finland marked the band's live debut with new guitarist Chris Broderick, who has previously played with JAG PANZER and NEVERMORE.

The third installment of the U.S. Gigantour the acclaimed traveling heavy music festival launched in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will launch April 12 in Denver, CO with headliner MEGADETH, Swedish metal band IN FLAMES, Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM, Arizona's modern extreme JOB FOR A COWBOY and Oakland, CA heavy power trio HIGH ON FIRE all confirmed. The 29-date trek will criss-cross North America and wraps May 22 in Phoenix, AZ.
