MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE To Serve As Honorary Pace Car Driver At Watkins Glen International

August 6, 2015

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will be the honorary pace car driver for the Sunday, August 9 Sprint Cup Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen International (WGI) in Watkins Glen, New York. Mustaine states: "I'll be leading the field in the pace car with nothing but race cars behind me!"

NASCAR weekend at The Glen is the largest sporting event in New York State. Earlier this year, the famed road course at WGI was named "Best NASCAR Track" by fans and readers of USA Today.

For more information or admission or Bog tickets, see WGI's web site or call the track at (800) 461-RACE.

MEGADETH recently finished recording its fifteenth album in a Nashville studio for a tentative late 2015 or early 2016 release. The production duties on the follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" were handled by Mustaine and Toby Wright (ALICE IN CHAINS, KORN). The CD is currently being mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA.

The new MEGADETH album will be the band's first to feature LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA. They were recruited earlier this year following the departures of drummer Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick, who have since launched a new project called ACT OF DEFIANCE.
