MEKONG DELTA's 'Lurking Fear' To Receive U.S. Release This Month

April 4, 2008

"Lurking Fear", the new album from the legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA, will be released in North America on April 22 via Locomotive Records. It is the first all-new studio album from the band since 1997.

"Lurking Fear" was made available in Europe last August as a standard jewelcase as well as a double vinyl album. The limited-edition digipack included a bonus DVD containing the band's December 21, 1991 concert in Frankfurt, Germany.

MEKONG DELTA's current lineup (photo) includes mainman/bassist Ralf Hubert alongside drummer Uli Kusch (ex-MASTERPLAN, HELLOWEEN),singer Leo Szpigiel (ANGEL DUST, CROWS, SCANNER, DUKE) and guitarist Peter Sjberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE).

Commented Hubert: "I dismissed one song idea after another and around 2005, I finally found what I was looking for. A fusion of all the music I wrote in the past, so to say: an 'Erich Zann is Dancing in an Kaleidoscope full of Doubt having Visions Fugitives.' Right at this point of time, Peter Lake, probably one of the best guitar players in Europe, contacted me and I knew that the time is right to do a new album."

Zardoz Music in 2005 released a two-CD, 22-song compilation, entitled "The Principle of Doubt", containing selections from various MEKONG DELTA albums.
