MENCEA Signs With INDIE RECORDINGS

October 29, 2008

Indie Recordings has announced the signing of the Athens, Greece-based metal band MENCEA.

According to a press release, MENCEA "delivers groove-oriented, intense modern metal that bends the listener's perception of the various genres of extreme music. Their music oscillates in between fast, aggressive moods, melodic hooks, and is executed with punishing precision. Big and spacey melodies over raging riffs and extreme drumming, ear-grinding vocals and atmospheric passages demonstrate the band's songwriting skills and technical prowess."

Having gotten the attention of several well-known European and U.S record producers, the band's pre-production demos also reached the hands of Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD etc),who instantly expressed his interest in mixing the MENCEA debut album.

Due on November 3, "Dark Matter, Energy Noir" was recorded at 210 Studios in Berlin, Germany, with Stamos Koliousis and Vangleis Labrakis handling the engineering and production duties. The CD was mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden while the mastering was taken care of by George Marino (METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, AC/DC, etc) at Sterling Sound Studios in New York.
