MERCYFUL FATE Guitarist HANK SHERMANN To Guest On New STYGIA Album

June 2, 2008

STYGIA mainman/guitarist Todd Seitz has issued the following update:

"I am very excited to announce that MERCYFUL FATE guitarist Hank Shermann will be recording a guest solo on the upcoming STYGIA album. MERCYFUL FATE has played a huge role in my development as a guitar player and composer. It will be an honor to have Hank contribute his unique guitar sound to the album.

"Hank is now working on his new solo project DEMONICA. Be sure to check up on it as I'm sure it will be some brutal material!"

Added Seitz, "We will start the drum recording session on June 14th. It's sure to be some insane work with John [Macaluso; ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ARK, TNT] on the drums. I'll hopefully have some video updates posted after the sessions. Chris McCarvill [HOUSE OF LORDS, ex-JEFF SCOTT SOTO] will be on tour during most of the albums recording, so I will soon be announcing his replacement for the bass recording. It's sure to be a big surprise!!!"

STYGIA's recording lineup is completed by Michael Vescera (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, LOUDNESS) on vocals and Mats Olausson (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) on keyboards.

According to Seitz, the CD will feature eight tracks for a running time of around 60 minutes.

The band intends to do some live performances after the LP release.
