MESHUGGAH Kicks Off North American Tour; Photos Available

February 2, 2009

Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH kicked off their North American tour last night (Sunday, February 1) at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.

High-quality photos of the show taken by photographer Chris Loomis can be viewed at CLoomisFotos.com.

As previously reported, MESHUGGAH's Tomas Haake will make an appearance at Tom Lee Drum Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on February 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. before the Vancouver date of the Swedish metal band's North American tour.

Intent on decimating the boundaries of extreme music with their metric art, MESHUGGAH has returned to North America as part of a 17-show headlining tour presented by MySpace Music. Direct support to MESHUGGAH is provided by the legendary progressive metal band CYNIC. Opening all shows are technical progressive death metallers THE FACELESS from Los Angeles.

Released in March 2008, MESHUGGAH's "obZen" album debuted at No. 59 on The Billboard 200 chart and at No. 14 on the iTunes Top Rock Albums chart. "obZen" has sold more than 50,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
