METAL CHURCH/Ex-W.A.S.P. Drummer STET HOWLAND Gets Married In Las Vegas; DAVID ELLEFSON Serves As Officiant

April 1, 2018

Former W.A.S.P. and current METAL CHURCH drummer Stet Howland married the love of his life, Heidi, last weekend at the Plaza Hotel And Casino ballroom in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Howland walked down the aisle on March 24, according to a series of Facebook photos posted by attendees, who congratulated the 57-year-old musician and his new wife.

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson, who officiated the ceremony, was among those who took to social media to celebrate the happy occasion.

"Very honored to officiate the wedding of my dear friend Stet Howland and his new bride Heidi in Las Vegas," Ellefson wrote.

Howland, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last fall, told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that his wedding was "a huge milestone for me given I was on my death bed only months ago." He added: "It was an amazing rock and roll wedding! We had two awesome rock bands play, BITE THE BULLET and SIN CIRCUS. Our wedding invitations were mock concert tickets, our wedding programs were VIP laminates, our cake stands were custom DW drums, and we partied for six hours straight (12 for me)."

As for his current health status, Howland said: "It appears that I'm going to survive my cancer. After six months of grueling treatment, I am officially in remission.

"I had a successful comeback with METAL CHURCH on the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise [in early February] and am currently recording the 12th METAL CHURCH CD. Life is good and I'm thankful to be a part of it."

Howland is in remission from Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL),an aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that develops from the B-cells in the lymphatic system.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help Stet cover the cost of his medical expenses.

Stet was named METAL CHURCH's permanent new drummer in July 2017. He stated at the time that he was "honored to be a member of such a group of people" and vowed to do his "best to deliver strong performances both live and in the studio." He added in a social media post: "I consider myself a very lucky man who has done many great things in my life. I have been blessed to play in several iconic bands in my career. But my current METAL CHURCH gig is the unrivaled pinnacle of it all."

Very honored to officiate the wedding of my dear friend Stet Howland (Metal Church) and his new bride Heidi in Las Vegas today. MetalChurch
