METAL HAMMER GOLDEN GODS Awards: Nominees Announced

April 21, 2005

The nominations for the 2005 Metal Hammer Golden Gods, the U.K.'s most prestigious rock and metal awards ceremony, were announced on Wednesday (April 20). On Monday, June 13, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods will relocate to the heartland of London's rock mecca, the London Astoria, for its third annual honors ceremony.

Organized by Metal Hammer magazine, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods are the only U.K. awards show to allow voting for half of the awards to the public and also uniquely combine a truly live element to the proceedings. With over 1,000 fans being invited to join their heroes and industry bigwigs, they will be treated to live sets from some of the pioneers of the current global rock scene as well as some of the most promising up and coming talent around. Confirmed to headline the 2005 Metal Hammer Golden Gods are one of metal's true originators, ANTHRAX. Joining ANTHRAX on stage will be the breakthrough operatic goth rockers NIGHTWISH, U.S. metal titans SHADOWS FALL, Roadrunner newcomers TRIVIUM and Welsh metal hotshots BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE.
