'METAL' MIKE CHLASCIAK Completes Solo Mini-Tour, Jams With PRIMAL FEAR

May 30, 2010

The first headlining show from HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and his solo band, which took place Saturday, May 22 at Dingbatz Club in Clifton, New Jersey, was filmed for the "Project: American Studio" documentary series. In addition, Chlasciak joined German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR on stage at the Blender Theater in New York City on May 20 and at Jaxx in Springfield, Virginia on May 21 to perform a cover version of the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Metal Gods".

Commented Mike: "It feels absolutely great to have completed our way-too-short of a run.

"Although there were challenges at times with long drives, time constraints and many other logistics that always eat up musicians' time, we have persevered and played the best we could at our shows in Virginia and New Jersey.

"To start off festivities right, I joined my friends in PRIMAL FEAR at the famed Gramercy Theater in New York City for a rendition of 'Metal Gods'. Got back way too late and upon four hours of sleep, we ventured onto the highways, early Friday morning of May 21 to our next stop at Jaxx in Springfield, Virginia.

"Jaxx show was fantastic and it was nice to meet many metallers who came out to see the new band play. There was something in the air — something awesome, and I was not the only one who knew it.

"We played new material mostly with a couple HALFORD and PAINMUSEUM tracks to round off the 55-minute set. I joined PRIMAL FEAR that evening once again for an encore and later on; we had a good talk over some brews at the bus.

"Armed with coffee and another four hours of sleep, we set for New Jersey the next morning. Although a late-night show, our Dingbatz, New Jersey show did not disappoint.

"It is always great to play home.

"I am very proud of my now-brothers Carlos Zema, Clint Arent and John Macaluso, as they kicked much ass each evening.

"The band had a quick photo shoot with Mark Weiss before taking the stage, which was additionally captured for the 'Project: American Studio' show.

"I feel privileged and honored to be in a band with true metal hearts and thanks to all of you who came out to witness.

"Big thanks to PRIMAL FEAR guys for the warm welcome.

"Feels like a new beginning, but most importantly one that is correct. Sleep or no sleep, we did what felt right and accomplished the most important thing — we played heavy metal!"
