METALLICA Announce Official 'St. Anger' Track Listing

April 9, 2003

METALLICA have finalized the official track listing for their eighth studio album, "St. Anger", due on June 10 through Elektra Records.

Produced by Bob Rock, the album was recorded at the group's own studios inside their San Rafael headquarters. In addition to the eleven tracks on "St. Anger", the package will include a free DVD of live rehearsal recordings of all eleven songs, also captured at HQ.

Here are the eleven official song titles, clocking in at just over 75 minutes:

01. Frantic
02. St. Anger
03. Some Kind of Monster
04. Dirty Window
05. Invisible Kid
06. My World
07. Shoot Me Again
08. Sweet Amber
09. Unnamed Feeling
10. Purify
11. All Within My Hands

"St. Anger" marks the group's first release since the departure of bassist Jason Newsted, who quit the band in January 2001 because of "private and personal reasons" and "physical damage" inflicted through years of touring. Newsted has been replaced in the group by former Ozzy Osbourne bassist Robert Trujillo, who joined the band too late to appear on the new album, widely reported to be METALLICA's most aggressive, brutal offering to date. Trujillo has spent the last few weeks rehearsing with METALLICA and will join them onstage for this year's Summer Sanitarium tour, which kicks off July 4 in Pontiac, Michigan, with LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT, DEFTONES and MUDVAYNE onboard.
