METALLICA: Canadian 'Some Kind Of Monster' Small-Screen Premiere Scheduled For Friday

The Canadian small-screen premiere of the "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster" documentary is scheduled for this Friday, September 9 at 8:00 p.m. on the Documentary Channel. A repeat airing will take place on Thursday, September 15 at 8:00 p.m.

Filmed over three tumultuous years, "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster" examines the personal, professional and creative struggles of one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time. The film begins with the band at a low point: they had unexpectedly split with their long-time bassist, relations between the remaining band-mates were souring and, as they hadn't toured or released an album for several years, fans and the music press were questioning the band's future. So was METALLICA.

At the desperate request of their manager, the band begins group therapy. It soon becomes clear that, despite their many years together building a multi-million dollar global business, wide personal chasms exist between these men. No longer rebellious boys, they are now men in their forties, with the problems, responsibilities and concerns of middle age.
