METALLICA Dominates Norwegian Single Chart

September 17, 2008

According to the Norwegian music industry magazine Faro Journalen, METALLICA has an unprecedented six tracks on this week's Norwegian Top 20 single chart — five of them taken from the band's latest album, "Death Magnetic":

02. The Day That Never Comes
08. The Unforgiven III
13. The Judas Kiss
16. That Was Just Your Life
18. Cyanide
19. Nothing Else Matters

Another "Death Magnetic" cut, "My Apocalypse", entered the chart two weeks ago at position No. 9, but has since fallen out of the Top 20.

Whenever an album is sold digitally in Norway, each track that makes up the full-length LP is credited with one sale towards the single chart, making it possible for album cuts that are not released as actual singles to compete with regular single releases.

Taking this week's new entries into account, METALLICA has had a total of 24 songs in the Norwegian Top 20 since the band made its chart debut with 1991's "Enter Sandman".

"Death Magnetic" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 1.

The band's sixth chart-topping LP in Norway, "Death Magnetic" is expected to sell around 60,000 copies (double platinum) by Christmas, according to METALLICA's record label, Universal Music Norway.
