METALLICA Guitarist Trying To Sell Second Sea Cliff Mansion At $3 Million Discount

July 5, 2018

According to SFGate, one of two properties METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett once called home in Sea Cliff, a neighborhood in northwestern San Francisco, California, is back on the market for $13 million.

Hammett first listed 320 Sea Cliff in 2017 for $16 million, then dropped the price a couple times before pulling it off the market. Hammett also owned neighboring 308 Sea Cliff that sold for $12.8 million in March.

Back in 2009, Hammett sold a home in Pacific Heights for $7.6 million after owning it for sixteen years. He bought that 8-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom, 10,100-square-foot, four-story mansion in 1993 for a mere $2.56 million.

Asked by Atlanta, Georgia's Rock 100.5 radio station if it ever gets old being a millionaire, Hammett responded: "You know, it just comes with a whole bunch of different problems, bro. And you know what? I'm not very good with saving money. [I spend it on] comic books and movie posters and horror stuff and guitars. I live my life. I just fucking live my life. And I'm generous. The people who are around me experience what I'm experiencing while I'm experiencing it."

METALLICA is currently home on a three-month break before launching a North American arena tour on September 2 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band has been touring in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which arrived in November 2016.
