METALLICA Joins SPINAL TAP On Stage At 'Live Earth'; Video Available

July 7, 2007

METALLICA members James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo joined SPINAL TAP on stage for the latter band's rendition of "Big Bottom" at the Live Earth concert in London earlier tonight (Saturday, July 7). SPINAL TAP greeted the crowd with a cheery "Hello Wimbledon!" and also recreated its classic Stonehenge routine with a mini-model of the English landmark. Watch video footage at YouTube.

As previously reported, professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA's three-song set as part of the Live Earth concert has been posted at YouTube:

"Sad But True": Video
"Nothing Else Matters": Video
"Enter Sandman": Video

The band played three songs instead of the scheduled four; "For Whom The Bell Tolls" was dropped, possibly due to time restrictions.

The Wembley Stadium show is part of the 24-hour global series of concerts being held to raise awareness of global warming.

METALLICA's performance will be available to download for a minimal fee on iTunes and the band's live download site, LiveMetallica.com. All proceeds from the sale of downloads will go to four climate organizations selected by METALLICA.
