METALLICA: 'Monster' Documentary To Receive Theatrical Premiere In New York
February 17, 2004More information has been revealed concerning the theatrical and DVD release of the METALLICA documentary, "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster". During a recent "Question & Answer" session with the METALLICA fan site The 4 Horsemen, filmmaker Joe Berlinger revealed that the documentary is set to be released in theaters this July and the DVD release is expected sometime early next year. Based on a recent meeting with Berlinger, the Local Missouri Chapter of Metclub is reporting that the film will receive its theatrical premiere in New York City on July 9 while the DVD is expected to surface sometime in February 2005. The DVD release will contain extra footage, with the disc's total running time said to be somewhere around the four-and-a-half-hour mark. METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich has also reportedly told Joe that more footage may be released in five years or so.
"Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster" is currently being screened in various film festivals worldwide, including 11 in North America.
