December 17, 2008Skippy of Modesto, California's Rock 96.7 radio station conducted an interview with METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo on December 13, 2008 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. Listen to the 10-minute chat below.
METALLICA has confirmed that the long-rumored Guitar Hero: Metallica will tentatively arrive in the first half of 2009. A post at the band's official web site announced, "Yes, we know, it's the worst-kept secret in rock 'n'roll but we're here now to finally confirm that there will indeed be an all-METALLICA Guitar Hero game released in the first half (!?) of 2009. Guitar Hero: Metallica allows you to play as us in either single instrument or band career game modes in your choice of some famous settings or new venues with in-the-round staging ... Over the next few months, we're going to be updating you with track listings, more features, of course how and when you can get the game, and some cool previews of the game right here on the site. As you've heard us say before, keep checking back for more details!"
The post added that the game will include 28 METALLICA songs, as well as tracks from ALICE IN CHAINS, FOO FIGHTERS, QUEEN, SLAYER and others.
One person likely to play the game is drummer Lars Ulrich, who told The Pulse of Radio he's already played METALLICA songs on Guitar Hero: World Tour at home with his kids. "It's awesome," he said. "It's been a lot of fun. I've played it three or four times with my kids, it's awesome. 'Cyanide' is the easiest one to play, that's the one I start with. By the time we get over to some of the other stuff, then it gets a little more complicated, but it's a lot of fun."
Guitar Hero: Metallica will be the second artist-specific game in the franchise behind this year's Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
