METALLICA: Pro-Shot Footage Of 'The Memory Remains' Performance From Bogota

November 14, 2016

Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "The Memory Remains" live on November 1 at Hipódromo de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia can be seen below.

As previously reported, METALLICA collected more than nine tons of food for disadvantaged children and animals at the Bogotá concert. Around 25,000 fans who attended the show at Los Andes Stadium in Bogota were asked to donate non-perishable food to help the indigenous Wayuú community in the northern Colombian region of La Guajira. More than 4,770 children have died there in the last eight years due to malnourishment and a lack of drinking water, at the rate of one or two a week.

Fans brought in nine tons of food and other items through the Challenger Foundation, which fights hunger, and Corazones Peluditos (Furry Hearts),an independent organization of 40 families who help feed and re-home abandoned animals.

The issue was brought to the band's attention by a group of Colombian METALLICA fans dubbing themselves the Lords Of Hardwire.

METALLICA has just completed its South American tour and will not hit the road again until early 2017 as the band travels to the Far East and Europe before returning to tour North America in support of its new album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct". The disc, METALLICA's tenth studio effort, arrives on November 18.

The situation of the Wayuú was publicized worldwide through the release of the documentary "El Rio Que Nos Robaron" (The Stolen River),made by Colombian award-winning investigative journalist Gonzalo Guillén.

The film illustrates the harrowing living conditions that plague the Wayúu and suggests through evidence that they are facing an orchestrated genocide due to the Colombian government's indifference and abandonment.
