METALLICA's 'Death Magnetic' Continues European Chart Reign
October 16, 2008According to Billboard.biz, METALLICA's "Death Magnetic" (Vertigo/Universal) has started a fifth week atop Billboard's European Top 100 Albums chart. The CD has two remaining No. 1 European berths, in Sweden and Greece, but loses top spot in Norway and Switzerland. It holds at No. 2 in Austria and No. 3 in Denmark.
METALLICA's Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" with host Bob Coburn on Monday, October 20 at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to speak with the group by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). (Note: Contrary to a previous announcement, the band will **NOT** be performing on the program.)
METALLICA will take the stage tonight (Thursday, October 16) when the annual "Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2008" take over Guadalajara, Mexico. The awards, which will be held inside the Auditorio Telmex, will air live at 9 p.m. ET, only on MTV Tr3´s. According to MTV News, METALLICA will be performing the first single from "Death Magnetic", "The Day That Never Comes". Others set to appear at this year's "Premios" include TOKIO HOTEL, PARAMORE, KISS' Gene Simmons, THE KOOKS, BELANOVA, JULIETA VENEGAS, and BABASÓNICOS.
