METALLICA's Helsinki Shows Sell Out In Less Than 40 Minutes

October 20, 2008

All 26,000 tickets to METALLICA's two shows in Helsinki, Finland on June 14 and June 15, 2009 at the Hartwall Arena were sold within 40 minutes after they went on sale this morning (Monday, October 20).

METALLICA's last show at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland — on July 15, 2007 — was attended by more than 50,000 people, which is nearly 1 percent of the country's 5.5-million population. Tickets to that concert were snapped up in about 45 minutes after they went on sale on February 28, 2007.

METALLICA performed the first single from "Death Magnetic", "The Day That Never Comes", at last Thursday's (October 16) annual "Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2008" in Guadalajara, Mexico. The awards, which were held inside the Auditorio Telmex, aired live on MTV Tr3's.

METALLICA's Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" with host Bob Coburn tonight (Monday, October 20) at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to speak with the group by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). (Note: Contrary to a previous announcement, the band will **NOT** be performing on the program.)
