METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD Plans 'Pretty Normal' Christmas

December 23, 2008

The Pulse of Radio reports: What is Christmas like when you're one of the world's biggest rock stars? If you're METALLICA frontman James Hetfield, the holiday is pretty much like everyone else's. "It's pretty normal, pretty normal," he said. "We got the grandparents up from Argentina, you know. I love decorating. You know, we've got the house all done up. You got kids, you've got to decorate. It's so fun. Try not to spoil the kids too much, but of course they are. We limit it to one gift each, and then of course, you know, you've got family that bombards them and they spend all day opening gifts (laughs)."

METALLICA just completed the first leg of its North American tour in support of the band's latest album, "Death Magnetic", and will start up again on January 12 in Milwaukee.

The group confirmed last week that Guitar Hero: Metallica will be released sometime in early 2009, possibly in the spring.

METALLICA is one of the nominees for induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. The final list of inductees will be announced next month.
