METALLICA's Online Takeover

December 11, 2003

Several months after refusing to make their music available as individual downloads on Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes online music store, METALLICA announced Wednesday on Metallica.com that their full catalog can be downloaded from the following sites:

BuyMusic.com
LiquidAudio.com
MusicMatch.com
FullAudio.com

However, in keeping with their desire to not have albums broken up, individuals songs are NOT available for download — only FULL albums. Single albums are $11.49, while double discs are $16.99. For almost every other artist, users can download select songs starting at 79 cents.

In other news, METALLICA have confirmed a couple of dates for their spring 2004 U.S. tour. In addition to the previously announced March 28 date at Seattle's Key Arena, METALLICA will be performing at San Francisco's Cow Palace on March 8. GODSMACK and A PERFECT CIRCLE are being rumored as possible openers on the trek, which is expected to kick off on March 2.
