METALLICA's 'St. Anger' Enters U.K. Chart At No. 3
June 11, 2003Although widely expected to grab the top spot on the U.K. album charts, METALLICA's "St. Anger" fell short on predictions, bowing in at No. 3. Could this be down to apathy or confusion over release dates? Nevertheless, alt-rockers THE STEREOPHONICS grabbed the top spot debut with "You Gotta Go There To Come Back" while METALLICA were snubbed down to third by a triumphant S CLUB 7 parading their "Greatest Hits".
"St. Anger" debuted at No. 2 in Switzerland and No. 3 in Holland.
On the rise across virtually all European charts are both the EVANESCENCE album "Fallen" and single "Bring Me To Life". Initially debuting low, the popularity of the "Bring Me To Life" video has seen a successive three week run of rising chart positions across the board. "Bring Me To Life" has rested on the Australian No. 1 spot for two weeks now and grabbed the U.K. No. 1 after entering the chart at a lowly No. 60.
MARILYN MANSON's "Mobscene" entered the U.K. singles chart at No. 13.
SEPULTURA's "Roorback" enters the European charts at No. 77 in France, No. 46 in Germany, and No. 69 in Switzerland.
