METALLICA: 'The Simpsons' Guest Appearance To Air In September
June 29, 2006According to a posting on METALLICA's official web site, METALLICA's much-anticipated appearance on "The Simpsons" will air as the program's season premiere on September 10, 2006 on the Fox network. Check local listings for channel and showtime in your area.
The four members of METALLICA recorded their voices for the program last September.
METALLICA joins a long list of artists who have been featured on the show, including BLINK-182, Mick Jagger, 'N SYNC, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, AEROSMITH, Elvis Costello, SONIC YOUTH, CYPRESS HILL, SMASHING PUMPKINS and Bette Midler.
As previously reported, METALLICA's James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett — along with members of ARCH ENEMY and NEVERMORE — have lent their voices to the cartoon series "Death Clock Metalocalypse". Check out the show teaser at this location.
Brendon Small, known for the series "Home Movies", co-created "Death Clock Metalocalypse" about a Norwegian heavy metal band called DEATHKLOK. Although they rock to the top of the charts with gusto, they are also incredibly stupid and leave a path of destruction and mayhem behind wherever they tour. The new series will premiere in August on Adult Swim, the adult-oriented television programming block on Cartoon Network.
METALLICA had previously lent their voices to the animated show "Dave the Barbarian".
