METALLICA To Livestream Performance At House Of Vans In London; Special Oakland Concert Announced

November 14, 2016

METALLICA will celebrate the launch of its eleventh studio album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", with a very special and intimate live performance this Friday, November 18. As Vans continues to honor 50 years of "Off The Wall" heritage in action sports, art, music and street culture, it brings a truly one-of-a kind experience to London — and to the world — with one of the most influential and culturally iconic bands in existence.

Expect to see live performances of songs from the new album as well as a slew of classics from the METALLICA back catalogue and you can catch the entire performance courtesy of the live stream live at www.houseofvanslondon.com beginning at 9:00 p.m. GMT on Friday, November 18.

In other news, METALLICA will play a special show at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California on December 17.

A special pre-sale begins on Thursday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. to members of the METALLICA fan club. All the proceeds will be donated to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Winners will be e-mailed a personal code on November 16 along with more details about how to purchase tickets to the exclusive one-of-a-kind show.

If you're not a member of the METALLICA fan club, you will still have a chance to purchase up to two tickets per person on Friday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m. PST at Ticketmaster.com for a price of $100 each, again with all proceeds donated to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Everyone who comes to the show is encouraged to celebrate the spirit of holidays by bringing a donation of canned goods to the venue that night and METALLICA will have collection bins by all the entrances.

"Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", a 2-CD / 2-vinyl set, is METALLICA's first studio album since 2008's multi-platinum "Death Magnetic". "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" is available for pre-order at Metallica.com in various configurations, including CD, vinyl, digital, deluxe and deluxe box versions. Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed "Death Magnetic", produced the album.

Instead of a previously announced bonus disc of demos, the deluxe edition of the album will now feature a number of cover songs that the band has recorded over the past few years, including a medley of Ronnie James Dio songs, IRON MAIDEN's "Remember Tomorrow" and DEEP PURPLE's "When A Blind Man Cries".

The deluxe version will also feature a live set recorded at Rasputin's in Berkeley, California on Record Store Day 2016 and a live version of the new song "Hardwired" recorded in August at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
