METALLICA To Perform At 'Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2008' Awards Show

On October 16, METALLICA will take the stage when the annual "Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2008" take over Guadalajara, Mexico. The awards, which will be held inside the Auditorio Telmex, will air live at 9 p.m. ET, only on MTV Tr3´s. According to MTV News, METALLICA will be performing the first single from "Death Magnetic", "The Day That Never Comes". Others set to appear at this year's "Premios" include TOKIO HOTEL, PARAMORE, KISS' Gene Simmons, THE KOOKS, BELANOVA, JULIETA VENEGAS, and BABASÓNICOS.

In other news, METALLICA's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"For those of you checking out your MTV here in the States, 'Headbanger's Ball' will begin celebrating its 20th anniversary starting on Monday, October 20 on MTV2. We're proud to be featured in the first show of the anniversary week, 'MTV Essential: Metallica', that premiers on that Monday at 11 p.m. The show will take you back through our history and includes new interviews about 'Death Magnetic' and our recent summer tour in Europe."
