METALLICA To Perform On 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

May 9, 2017

METALLICA will be the musical guest on the Monday, May 15 episode of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on CBS.

Says the band: "We're psyched to be back on the East Coast kicking off the North American leg of the 'WorldWired' tour and what better way to spend a day off than making a visit to 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'? We'll be hitting the stage at the iconic Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Monday, May 15th and we hope you'll stay up late and tune in!"

"The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" airs on CBS at 11:35 p.m. ET. Check your local listings.

This will not be the first time that METALLICA has appeared on a talk show hosted by Stephen Colbert. The band previously sat down for an interview and performed on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" in September 2013.

METALLICA's "Now That We're Live" live rehearsal special from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore will stream exclusively on Facebook Live tonight (Tuesday, May 9) at 9:00 p.m. EST, the eve of their inaugural show for the North American leg of the "WorldWired" tour 2017. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees and multiple-Grammy Award-winning band will warm up the stadium stage with a full-scale rehearsal performance.

The "Now That We're Live" rehearsal special will feature METALLICA performing four songs in their entirety (including their current single, "Now That We're Dead"). The presentation will offer fans an early glimpse of the groundbreaking production elements of the "WorldWired" tour and will be available for on-demand viewing following the live stream via Metallica.com and the band's Facebook page.

Viewers will also be able to donate on Facebook Live to METALLICA's All Within My Hands Foundation, which supports a cross-section of national, local and Bay Area charities that the individual band members support, as well as music education programs and local food banks.

The North American leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" 2017 tour kicks off in Baltimore and will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet's first North American trek since 2009 will come mainly from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and VOLBEAT, with GOJIRA taking over for the latter group for the last six shows.

The first European leg of "WorldWired" kicks off on September 4 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and stretches through November. After a break, the trek will pick up again on February 10, 2018 in Bologna, Italy, and continue through May, finishing up in Helsinki, Finland.
