METALLICA To Play Four Free Shows In San Francisco

METALLICA will be playing four free shows at the world-famous Fillmore Theater in San Francisco on May 18, 19, 21, and 22. The only way you can be there is to win tickets through the MetClub (the official METALLICA fan club),or by listening to your local radio station. (Note: Not all stations will have tickets) Deadline for METALLICA Club members to enter is April 29, midnight PST. Winners will be drawn and notified via e-mail on Wednesday, April 30.

METALLICA's first official appearance with new bassist Robert Trujillo (formerly of OZZY OSBOURNE and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) will take place on May 3 as part of the upcoming MTV's METALLICA"mtvICON" special, which will find artists performing METALLICA's songs and saluting the group's influential career. METALLICA will perform during the finale of the taping. The event, to be broadcast by the music network on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT),will include appearances by KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SUM 41, and AVRIL LAVIGNE, among others.

METALLICA's new album, "St. Anger", arrives June 10 via Elektra. As previously reported, the set will come bundled with a bonus DVD, featuring the band playing each of the album's 11 tracks in a live setting.
