METALLICA To Unveil 'Mind-Blowing New Stage' In Mexico This Summer

March 15, 2012

METALLICA will return to Mexico one month after the Orion Music + More weekend and will unveil a mind-blowing new stage that needs to be seen to be believed. This 140x50-foot stage will feature colossal components and striking visual elements spanning METALLICA's entire 30-year career.

METALLICA's relationship with Mexico goes above and beyond. The exuberance and passion of the METALLICA fans and the warm welcome they've received has made Mexico one of their favorite international destinations. In 1993, towards the end of the "Black" album touring cycle, METALLICA played an unprecedented, five sold-out nights at Sports Palace in Mexico City, Mexico. Then in 2009 while touring in support of the Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum "Death Magnetic", METALLICA played three consecutive sold out nights to over 150,000 fans at Foro Sol Stadium which was immortalized in the "Mexico City Live" CD/DVD. This summer, METALLICA promises to deliver some of the fans' favorite moments and create some that have yet to be seen.

"Given our history with our rabid Mexican fans over the past decades, I couldn't think of a more appropriate place to unveil our new, sick-as-fuck, over-the-top, out-of-control stage that will be the cornerstone of our touring escapades for the next years to come," said METALLICA's Lars Ulrich. "Don't be scared boys and girls, this is going next level."
