METALLICA: Tonight's Copenhagen Show To Be Broadcast On Danish National Radio

Tonight's (Monday, July 20) METALLICA concert at the Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark will be recorded for Danish national radio P3 and broadcast this Wednesday, July 22 at 6 p.m.

METALLICA has confirmed that it will play a benefit concert in Northern California's Marin County, where the group has been headquartered for decades and where several members make their home. According to a post on Metallica.com, the band will perform at the 2,000-seat Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium on Friday, September 11. The show will benefit the Marin County Museum's "Marin Rocks" exhibition, will tentatively open next spring and showcase Marin Country's rich rock history as well as sponsor education programs.

Tickets go on sale for the show on August 1 at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster, or on August 3 at MarinCenter.org. Prices start at $100 and fan club members will get their own pre-sale on July 30.

The band said in their statement, "We have made Marin County in Northern California our home for many years, so we were more than honored when the Marin History Museum asked us to participate in their benefit concert as they prepare to launch the exhibit 'Marin Rocks'. That's right, finally, a show in our own back yards . . . something that has NEVER happened!"

METALLICA frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich both live in Marin and send their children to local schools.

METALLICA is currently touring in Europe but will launch a North American trek in September 14 in Nashville.
