METALLICA: Video Footage From Moscow Concert, Press Conference Available

July 19, 2007

RussiaToday has posted a video report featuring footage from METALLICA's July 18, 2007 concert as part of Moscow's Tuborg Greenfest and the press conference that preceded the gig. Watch the report at this location.

METALLICA's appearance in Moscow was the final gig of the band's "Sick of the Studio '07" European tour.

The group's devoted fans have been waiting for this concert for 16 years. The band made an appearance in Russia in 1991 and still has very good memories about the visit.

"We were met by bears. I never had as many men hug me before," joked frontman James Hetfield.

And a lot of questions at the press conference had to do with the group's recent split with producer Bob Rock who had worked with METALLICA for more than 12 years.

"It was too comfortable with Bob. It was too easy. We needed more of a challenge and we needed someone, I think… an outside ear that we respected," Hetfield explained.
