MEYVN: 'Splintered Skies' Reissue To Arrive Next Week

September 4, 2006

Austin, Texas-based heavy prog/power act MEYVN will release its debut album, "Splintered Skies", on September 12 via KillZone Records.

"Splintered Skies" was originally self-released by the band, which bought them to the attention of KillZone Records. The label will be re-releasing the album with a brand new track, "How Far We Fall", plus new artwork and a 16-page booklet.

According to a press release, "MEYVN delivers soaring, epic melodies and dazzling rhythms that are fluid and complex. The music has already earned them favorable comparisons to DREAM THEATER, WATCHTOWER and SYMPHONY X, combined with the brawn of such bands as METALLICA, MEGADETH, and fellow Texans PANTERA, delivering metal music that is truly inspirational."

MEYVN have built a fan base both at home in Texas and internationally in Greece, Germany and the Far East. With their first self release, the "Last Rites" EP, MEYVN were voted "The Best Band in Austin 2005" by readers of The Edge magazine, sweeping the board in nearly every category that they were nominated in.
