MISS MAY I To Enter Studio This Month

August 1, 2013

Ohio metallers MISS MAY I will enter the studio on August 14 with producer Terry Date (PANTERA, WHITE ZOMBIE, DEFTONES) to begin work on their fourth studio album for a spring 2014 release via Rise Records. The follow up to 2012's "At Heart" will be mixed by Colin Richardson, who has previously worked with SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD and TRIVIUM, among many others.

Comments MISS MAY I bassist Ryan Neff: "MISS MAY I has been a wild ride for all of us since the beginning. From starting out in a basement in a small Ohio town, listening to our favorite bands, and just trying to play shows, all the way up to now, about to record our fourth full-length album.

"As a longtime fan, I am ecstatic to announce that we will be working with Terry Date on our next record.

"Growing up jamming DEFTONES, WHITE ZOMBIE and PANTERA, it's a dream come true to be working with the man who helped capture some of their greatest work.

"As if that wasn't amazing enough, we have Colin Richardson in to mix the record who is also a legend in the metal world. So you can all expect some heavy riffage coming your way next year!"

MISS MAY I will follow up its recently wrapped stint as direct support on KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's North American tour with another direct support slot on FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's "The Wrong Side Of Heaven Tour", which starts September 17 in Medford, Oregon and runs through October 27.

"At Heart" sold 12,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was described by Revolver magazine as having "plenty of monster tracks, propulsive riffs, and searing breakdowns" (May/June 2012 issue). Released on June 12, 2012 via Rise Records, the effort was helmed by famed producer Machine (LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE, SUICIDE SILENCE).

MISS MAY I is:

Levi Benton - Vocals/Lyrics
Justin Aufdemkampe - Guitar
BJ Stead - Guitar
Ryan Neff - Bass/Vocals
Jerod Boyd - Drums
