MNEMIC Selected To Open Denmark's ROSKILDE FESTIVAL

June 17, 2004

Denmark's modern thrashers MNEMIC, featuring former INVOCATOR session drummer Brian Rasmussen and ex-MERCENARY guitarist Mircea G. Eftemie, have been confirmed as the openers of this year's Roskilde Festival. Every year a Danish band has the honor of opening the festival and for the first time in the history of Roskilde Festival, a metal band will be drawing the curtains to this major international four-day event. Commented the band: "It's going to be absolutely fucking crazy!!" Be sure to check out DR2's "Musikprogrammet" (web site) on Friday, June 18 for more information about what to expect from MNEMIC's performance at the festival.

As previously reported, MNEMIC recently entered AntFarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen to record their sophomore album. Working songtitles include "Deathbox", "The Silver Drop", "Overdose In The Hall Of Fame" and "Detonator". According to the band, the new material is "much faster and more dynamic." The as-yet-untitled follow-up to last year's "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" will be out on Nuclear Blast Records sometime in September and will be followed by an extensive touring schedule in Europe and the U.S.
