MORBID ANGEL Guitarist: New Material Will Be 'Neat-O'

October 3, 2006

MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth has posted the following message on his MySpace page:

"I gotta say I love it. I really love reading these messages from all of you. They show me that what this band has done is much bigger than performing some cool music over the years. :)

"I read messages from such inspired people and it makes me just go...YAY! hehe

"Only challenge is this...

"I have been working on replying to messages and I still got like over 300 left, and my inbox is getting more and more filled every day. Sure, I could spend hours and hours everyday to reply, but how will I ever write the new songs?

"I went from around 200 friends up to pushing 900 in like a week and a half, and I'm getting more every day.

"Again I interpret this as YAY!!

"I read all the messages. I read much faster than I type, I'm a typing bumbler. lol

"So here's the deal, I had people tell me perhaps I should close my profile and make it personal again.

"One of the reasons I made the news post on the www.morbidangel.com site was because some fans thought I was a fake and I didnt want negative vibes like that floating around. Some hardcore fans were really defending me, 'Trey', thinking this guy here was abusing the 'Trey' name and stuff.

"I guess I'm a dummy cause I just didn't quite realize that so many would wanna be my friend here, sending so many nice messages. It reminds me of how over these years this band has made some impact and somewhat infuenced what extreme music is today. It's like I could just step down and know that what this band has already done is pretty lasting, I forget sometimes.

"But...don't worry, I'm not done yet, I'm just seeking the new sound, I need a new sound, flow, to express and I know many are also waiting to see where this kind of music can possibly go from here. New mic-ing technologies, mic-ing techniques maybe. David [Vincent] singing into the anti-vacuum culture perhaps? Who can tell? Whatever it is, it will be neat-O, I assure you all of that.

"OK, so I'm keeping this page just as it is, it's a playground for fun. I will answer all I can and make more posts that focus on overall questions I am asked. This will work better, I won't hire a secretary, hehehe. Well, maybe if she's a cutie pie. :)"
