October 21, 2011

Legendary heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne signed copies of his new book, "Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rock's Ultimate Survivor", on October 19, 2011 at the Hastings bookstore in Conroe, Texas. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below (video by James Ridgway Jr.).

According to YourHoustonNews.com, more than 1,000 fans turned out to meet, greet and buy a book from Ozzy.

Fans showing up at Hastings prior to the start of the book signing event were issued tickets and placed in groups of 100. As space opened in the waiting line inside the store, ticket holders were allowed to come in as a group.

"I've been a fan of the Oz man since I was 6 or 7," Curtis Tompkins told YourHoustonNews.com. "I've always thought he was great and it's really something he's in Conroe."

Hastings officials said they were pleased with the crowd of fans that turned out to see Osbourne.

"The fans are well mannered and very upbeat," said John Merklein of Hastings Entertainment Inc.. "We expected the size of the crowd to be substantial and we weren't wrong."

In his new book "Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy", Ozzy Osbourne embraces his status as a medical marvel to tell incredible stories, offer advice as only he can and shed light on his seemingly superhuman ability to stay alive. Due out October 11, "Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy: Advice From Rock's Ultimate Survivor" by Ozzy Osbourne with Chris Ayres (Grand Central Publishing) is the follow-up to 2010's New York Times bestselling memoir "I Am Ozzy", which landed at #2 and #3 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal non-fiction charts, respectively.
