MORTIFICATION: New Album Will Feature 'Huge And Brutal Production'
October 22, 2008Steve Rowe of the Australian Christian metallers MORTIFICATION has issued the following update:
"We will be recording the new album in parts. I will be doing all the pre-production, bass tracks and vocal guides next month. In late December, [new drummer] Dave [Kilgallon] will be adding all the drum parts and then Mick [Jelinic] will record guitars and I will do the final vocal tracks in March. Finally, in late March, I will do the final mix with engineer Warren Hammond. I will be producing the album with Warren's assistance at the deluxe Penny Drop Studios."
He added, "Expect a huge and brutal production! This is the first time we have ever had three years between studio recordings. The ten new songs are killer! We are all very excited as we head towards our 20th anniversary celebrations in 2010."
MORTIFICATION's twelfth studio album, "Brain Cleaner", was released in 2004 through the Rowe Productions label. The follow-up to 2002's "Relentless" was described at the time as "the heaviest project the band has recorded in 10 years" and was said to be "a lot more of a death metal/grind-orientated album but with plenty of power and thrash metal mixed in to keep it interesting and multi-dimensional."
