MOTHERKINGDOM To Open For DEEP PURPLE In Switzerland

Swiss rockers MOTHERKINGDOM will open for DEEP PURPLE in MOTHERKINGDOM's hometown of Geneva on May 12 at the Arena, several miles from Montreux where a fire famously inspired the song "Smoke on the Water" in December 1971.

MOTHERKINGDOM will shoot a video for the song "Almost There" on May 13 at Usine PTR. The track comes off the group's second album, which is expected later in the year.

MOTHERKINGDOM's full-length debut, "Sleeping Subway", came out in 2004.
