MOTHERLOAD Singer Says He Was Forced To Quit Day Job After Rejecting Sexual Advances Of Female Colleague

September 10, 2014

According to DailyMail.co.uk, the singer of the British hard rock band MOTHERLOAD claims that he was forced to quit his day job at a furniture store after a female coworker sexually harassed him by slapping his buttocks and calling him lewd names.

31-year-old Tom Ford says that Lucy Myers showered him with gifts and attention in order to win his affection but became hostile when he rejected her advances. He alleges that he was rebuffed for being "over-sensitive" after he complained to his boss at the Good Shelf Company and is now suing the company for sexual discrimination, unfair dismissal and constructive dismissal.

"Lucy would brush past me whilst in my area, pushing her breasts against me," Ford, a former member of YOUNG GUNS, testified in court. "I told her not to touch me and to be strictly professional."

Ford further alleges that Myers, 34, would often make derogatory comments about his girlfriend of five years, Sarah-Jayne Whiteley, calling her "Barbie," "bimbo" and 'fake tits."

Whiteley is a model who was previously involved with BRING ME THE HORIZON frontman Oli Sykes.

Myers denied any wrongdoing, claiming that she was "shocked and disgusted to discover the vulgar allegations" made by Ford after he left the company. She said: "While our relationship had been tumultuous and, at times, inappropriate, it was certainly never sexual.

"I have been completely distraught thinking I could possibly have done anything that could be misconstrued as sexually harassing.

"I've begun to question everything I say to everyone, the very core of my personality, in intrinsic fear that my behaviour might be taken the wrong way.

"I've lost countless hours of sleep from the stress. I've considered counselling.

"These absolutely false allegations have stripped me of any shred of self-confidence and at times have left me physically ill and incapable of going in to work.

"Everything I have done or said as a friend, such as cooking, or gift giving, has been turned into something tawdry and disgusting.

"These false allegations have crippled my life and emotional stability for the better part of a year."

MOTHERLOAD plays out regularly in the United Kingdom and appeared at the acclaimed Bloodstock Open Air festival in Catton Park, Derbyshire.
