MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE Refuses To Stay Out Of Politics, Denies He Is Out Of Touch

August 7, 2019

Tommy Lee has pushed back against people criticizing him for expressing his political opinions on social media.

The MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with President Donald Trump, including earlier this week when he implored the billionaire real estate mogul to "wake the fuck up" after the president blamed last weekend's mass shootings on video games and mental illness.

As expected, many Trump supporters took issue with Tommy's remarks, with one person tweeting: "You should shut up and stick to drums."

In response, Tommy wrote: "The next person who tells me to stick to drumming and stay out of politics, I'm gonna come to ur house and shove my drumsticks up ur ass until you sneeze"

This prompted another Twitter user to fire back, saying that artists and entertainers lose their right to have a say in their country as soon as they achieve fame "because they don't know what it feels like living paycheck to paycheck; live in gated communities separate from the crime and ugliness and dirtiness on the street; eat extravagantly while others put back a steak so as not to go over at checkout line. THEY'RE OUT OF TOUCH!"

Lee retorted: "You must not have read The Dirt, I lived in a 4x4 apartment with 3 other dudes and cockroaches everywhere. We made $25/ week. Don't tell me I'm out of touch"

A short time later, another Twitter user replied, writing: "Yes dude, back in the early 80s. You haven't been in our world in over 30 years. You live in a mansion, you are no longer one of us. You don't face what we do everyday, that's why people can careless what you think."

Lee has criticized Trump a number of times in the past, including in December when he referred to the 45th U.S. president as an "asshole" and labeled his supporters "dumbasses." A year earlier, he called the president "a fucking idiot" and said the people who voted for him are "dickheads."

After Trump was elected president in November 2016, Lee expressed his disbelief on Twitter, writing: "What the actual fuck is happening?"

This past November, Tommy lambasted Trump for blaming California's recent wildfires on poor forest management. "Can you be anymore insensitive you fucking moron" Lee tweeted.
