MÖTLEY CRÜE's VINCE NEIL To Guest On SAMMY HAGAR's 'Rock & Roll Road Trip'

June 1, 2017

Sammy Hagar is back for even more candid conversations and exclusive jam sessions with some of music's biggest names, as season two of AXS TV's popular original music series "Rock & Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar" continues for a second cycle on Sunday, July 9, at 9 p.m ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.

The upcoming cycle kicks off on July 9, as Hagar heads to Sin City to cruise the Strip with EAGLES legend Don Felder in a classic Cadillac, share some laughs with Carrot Top, and hang out with rock superstars STYX backstage at the Venetian Theater before bringing the house down with a raucous "Hotel California" jam. Other highlights include Hagar performing CHICKENFOOT hits with Chad Smith and Joe Satriani at his studio in San Francisco (July 16); a trip to Nashville to visit with MÖTLEY CRÜE icon Vince Neil, and an acoustic set at the world-famous Phoenix Studios (July 23); an intimate dinner at "Supermensch" superstar Shep Gordon's home in Maui, featuring an all-star jam with Hagar, Mick Fleetwood, Willie K., and more (July 30); a front row seat to the world's biggest music festival, SXSW, where Hagar is honored as a keynote speaker, and performs an unforgettable rock-rap jam with hip-hop pioneer and RUN-D.M.C. founder Darryl McDaniels (August 6); and a season finale event that finds Hagar sitting down with the multi-talented Adam Levine to talk about his eclectic career (August 13).

"One of the things I love most about interviewing my favorite artists is asking them about things you won't get when you Google them," said Hagar about his interviewing style. "I try to make it more personal and in the moment than about the things we all already know."

The upcoming episodes are the conclusion to Season 2 which premiered March 5 and featured interviews and performances with James Hetfield, John Mayer, Melissa Etheridge, Toby Keith, John Mellencamp, Rick Nielsen, Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, Vic Johnson, Billy Gibbons and more.

"With his genre-defying jam sessions and down-to-earth interviews, Sammy gives viewers a unique look at some of the industry's most influential figures in ways we've never seen or heard them before," said Evan Haiman, VP of programming and production for AXS TV. "This second cycle of 'Rock & Roll Road Trip' is packed with even more unprecedented performances and insightful discussions, as Sammy cruises across the country in six more all-new episodes. And AXS TV is proud to once again partner with Mercury Insurance, as we continue to deliver the ultimate in top-grade music programming to our audience."

"We're very excited to continue our partnership with rock legend Sammy Hagar and AXS TV," said Erik Thompson, head of advertising for Mercury Insurance. "It is a dream combination and we've been able to create some amazing online content beyond what airs on the show to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at Sammy's guitar collection. We'll begin releasing this content through Mercury's Facebook feed just before the show premieres and continue with a new one every other week."
