MOTRHEAD's LEMMY Dedicates THIN LIZZY Classic To PHIL LYNOTT
June 13, 2008According to NME.com, MOTRHEAD covered a THIN LIZZY classic during their raucous set at the Download Festival this afternoon (June 13).
Frontman Lemmy Kilmister dedicated the track "Rosalie" to late singer Phil Lynott on the Main Stage at Castle Donington.
"This song is for a good friend of mine who is no longer with us. Who remembers THIN LIZZY?" he asked the crowd before he was greeted with mild cheers. "Come on, motherfuckers, it's THIN LIZZY. Don't make me come down there."
MOTRHEAD will release its new album, entitled "Motrizer", through SPV Records on the following dates:
USA: August 26
Germany: August 29
Rest of Europe: September 1
The follow-up to 2006's "Kiss of Death" was recorded in part (drums only) at FOO FIGHTERS frontman/ex-NIRVANA drummer Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California with producer Cameron Webb, who also worked on "Kiss of Death" and 2004's "Inferno".
